Non-Farm Based Interventions

i) Oyster Mushroom Cultivation

• Mushrooms are not a new crop for tribal farmers. For generations, they have used mushrooms as a favorite vegetable, consuming and selling them during the rainy season. Given their familiarity with local mushrooms and their regular consumption, the introduction of oyster mushroom production among the tribal and other farming communities is a convincing step to significantly increase their income.

• MASS has taken initiatives to scale up mushroom production and established an innovative subterranean oyster production unit to get production throughout the year.

ii) Bee Keeping

Beekeeping is an attractive profession and a mystery to many. While honey production is the primary source of income, honey bees play a crucial role in pollination, increasing crop yields by more than 30%.
MASS makes beekeeping accessible and easy for all honey producers.
